2020 Kia Telluride Preview | Mission, TX
The new Kia on the block is the 2020 Kia Telluride, which earlier this year was named the Best in Show by Cars.com at the 2019 North American International Auto Show. The Kia Telluride hasn’t yet made it onto our showroom floor at Bert Ogden Mission Kia, but we’re not far away from its arrival.
The 2020 Kia Telluride will be offered at four trim levels: LX, S, EX, and SX.
Powertrain
A 3.8-liter V6 engine powers the 2020 Kia Telluride, delivering 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and enabling this massive seven- to eight-seater SUV to tow up to 5,000 pounds. You can alter the Telluride’s performance based on driving conditions with four different modes: Sport, Smart, Eco, and Comfort. You can also opt for a fifth mode, Snow, which optimizes traction on snowy and icy roads.
Exterior and Interior
The exterior of the Telluride is led by Kia’s famous tiger-nose grille. Inside the Telluride, you will find ample room for all seven or eight passengers. Comfort is the primary objective in terms of the interior design for the Telluride — and Kia hit the mark with comfortable seating (available in leather), including available reclining dual captain’s chairs in the second row; ventilated front seats; and Quiet Mode to disable rear speakers in case you have sleeping kids.
One big exterior change for the 2020 Soul is the increased size of the tailgate, which increases space in the rear and makes loading and unloading the Soul easier. Kia also revised the driver’s door panel and footwell to make entry at all points of the Soul more convenient.
Other interior features include wireless charging, available dual sunroofs, Driver Talk for easy communication with backseat passengers, rear-seat USB ports, and an available, massive 10.25-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system.
Safety
Safety is a top priority for shoppers of large SUVs like the 2020 Kia Telluride, and the Telluride delivers with standard Safe Exit Assist, standard Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, available all-wheel drive with a center-locking differential, and available tech like Highway Driving Assist, Blind Spot View Monitor, and Surround View Monitor.
