Powertrain & Performance

There are four engine options to choose from for the 2018 Optima. The first is the base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which puts out 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

For the second engine option you will find a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and puts out a bit more power with 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. It’s only available on the LX 1.6T trim.

If you’re looking for something more eco-friendly, then the Optima Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid’s powertrain should be your go-to.
